An inventive new HME cartridge with updated function. Beautifully translucent and non-reflective for a natural look. Specially designed to attach to the entire family of InHealth baseplates, tubes and buttons. Held in place by an adhesive housing, the HME is placed over the tracheostoma for inhaled and exhaled air to pass through. A sophisticated low profile translucent material helps the HME cartridge discretely blend with the TruSeal adhesive housing.

The Blom-Singer HME System also features an integrated MucusShield™ occluder that provides protection to the HumidiFilter from mucus secretions and creates an air-tight seal closure for speech. Many laryngectomees suffer from involuntary coughing and excessive mucus production due to loss of their larynx. Studies indicate patients using a Blom-Singer HME have experienced a 60% reduction in mucus when using the device for at least seven consecutive days. This amount of time is needed to allow the airway sufficient time to adapt and recognize the benefits of the HumidiFilter.
